Pee is the theme of the week
Yup. Pee is definitely the subject this time around. Read daughter #2's blog and you'll see why. That reminded me of the time that someone (they should be glad they're anonymous) peed (now there is a weird looking past tense) in the diaper pail at the Church. Hmm...when ya gotta go...
It was quite surprising. Thank goodness I line the diaper pails with relatively sturdy plastic bags. The dilemma was how to get the bag out without breaking it and spilling everywhere! Remember, this is in the very stupidly designed bathroom with no floor drain! Luckily, I could open a side access panel (ooohhh) and gingerly remove the bag. Now what?! Bags are not real easy to pour from. Another brain wave! Snip the corner with my handy dandy scissors. Except they were on the cart just outside the bathroom - said area is carpeted. No way was I walking over a carpet with a bag of pee that could burst at any moment! Next inspirational thought - poke a hole using one of my keys. Yes, it's true. I poked a hole in the corner of the bag with a key that is always in my back pocket and held the disgusting bag over the toilet to drain out. Whoever did the offensive deed sure had a very large, very full bladder. I now think it was a couple of someone's who did this as a prank. Sigh. In Church even. Go figure!
Speaking of toilets - I was ya know - another brilliant someone decided to coat the inside of the toilet bowl in the Chapel with candle wax! How to get that out? Simple. I just used my handy dandy plastic scraper in the bowl and scraped the stuff off. Of course, there is a slight filmy residue. No idea how I'm going to tackle that stuff. You'll be glad to know that I scraped very carefully so as not to splash the water in the toilet AND I threw away the scraper!
At the nursing home where I used to work, we had to treat fingernail clippings from the residents as hazardous medical waste and wear gloves and dispose of the filings/clippings etc. accordingly. Think about it, but not too long, this was after all a dementia unit - lots of hands going where they probably shouldn't. But it wasn't just that unit. Every unit thusly treated its 'clippings'. Now extrapolate to the Church pews. A little mind stretching here...the stuff that is in the crevices is mostly medical waste i.e. fingernail clippings. DISGUSTING! People are really slobs. Sigh.
Fall is here. The birds are flocking. The hummingbirds are long gone. The Kingfisher has flown away before I got a decent picture of him. The only bright spots are the bluebirds - literally. Some consolation is that a bald eagle often hangs out near the river at this time of year on his way south - maybe I'll get lucky and even snap a picture on my snazzy camera phone. Then I'll have to figure out how to post it!
